Friends of St. Cuthbert's

The Friends of St. Cuthbert's Church, Darlington was established 12 years ago with the aim of raising funds to help preserve the fabric of this historic building in the Market Place.

As a member of the Friends you can expect invitations to interesting talks about our heritage, opportunities to explore the history and architecture of the church and lively social events, which are greatly enjoyed by our Friends and visitors. These range from country-themed evenings, such as our popular French night, to learning how to make chocolates.

Our first project was to restore the Coat of Arms inside the church and our latest has been to give a substantial sum towards the restoration of the Potts clock on the steeple.

We welcome all who are interested in this beautiful, ancient, Grade 1 listed building and its place in the centre of our town.
