Christian Aid Week

 This week is Christian Aid Week 2024. St Cuthbert’s has always responded generously during this fundraising week, and it is hoped we can do so again this year. There are some Weekly Devotionals at the back of church, so please feel free to take one. There is also a great deal of information on the website caweek.org where you can read about the work Christian Aid has been doing this year. The focus of this year’s appeal is on Burundi, a country situated in east-central Africa, where Christian Aid is providing community-based training to help families come together and set up small businesses, thereby supporting one another financially – helping them to break out of extreme poverty and live better, healthier, safer and more hopeful lives.

Christian Aid is one of the charities that form the Disasters Emergency Committee, and many of you kindly contributed last year to the Middle East Appeal. When emergencies strike almost anywhere in the world, Christian Aid are there before, during and after to save lives and support people in the long term.

Please return your donations to church by the end of May, and don’t forget to complete the Gift Aid slip if this is applicable to you. You can place your envelopes in the red Christian Aid bucket which is on the display table.
