‘Exploring Growth’ Sunday 

On Sunday 29th October, Rev James and Rev Steph led the church in an ‘Exploring Growth’ update on Sunday morning. This was an opportunity for the staff team at St Cuthbert’s to update the wider church about the exciting changes that we are celebrating as a church from the past few months, and a time of sharing what’s coming up.

The past few months have seen the staff team settling into church life - and with a new team comes new opportunities. St Cuthbert’s have been able to engage in town centre activities like the wedding fair; we have been making new relationships with organisations across the town and are excited to build more; new people are coming to church and exploring faith, and are even inviting others which is a real encouragement.

As part of this update, Rev James asked 'is it all rosy?’ and the honest answer must be ‘no!’ Change can be hard at times, and this new season is requiring the whole St Cuthbert’s community to trust in God as we continue to move forward in faith. 

As we look ahead, we are excited by our ongoing project to transform our building, and we are currently seeking additional funding to make this happen. Our plans for Christmas are in full swing - with the Christmas Lights Switch-On performance coming up, and carols and concerts galore over the Christmas season.

‘Exploring Growth’ Sunday will become a quarterly feature at St Cuthbert’s. This will help us to ensure that every few months, as a whole church, we are informed and celebrating all that we see God doing in and through us here in Darlington.
