May Activity Day

31 children aged 5yrs – 11yrs attended the May Activity Day ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It?’ on Tuesday 28th May at St. Cuthbert’s Church. Volunteers from Holy Trinity Church and St. Cuthbert’s Church came together to plan and prepare the day which was a great success. At the beginning of the day, children engaged enthusiastically in an energy workout led by Izzy Martin and then joined in with a sing along to ‘Our God is a Great Big God’ to celebrate God’s love for all of us.

A puppet screen was set up while children returned to their seats to watch a puppet led by two young leaders. This was followed with the Bible story of ‘the Lost Son’ before recreating the drama in team groups. The Day continued in the Church Hall with a music workshop to learn the Soul Children song ‘Let the Love flow’ before lunch.

The second part of the day included crafts, games and interactive prayer spaces on themes of God’s love, showing love and kindness to others and caring for the world. Beautiful doves of peace were decorated and suspended across the aisle of St. Cuthbert’s Church at the end of the day.
