Building a Team for St. Cuthbert's: Meet Kath Martin and Megan Rawling

In our previous article, we shared our vision of transforming St. Cuthbert’s into a vibrant hub of hospitality, music, and faith exploration. Today, we are thrilled to introduce two new members of our team, Kath Martin and Megan Rawling, who will be part of turning this vision into a reality.

Let's start by getting to know Kath Martin, our new Operations Co-Ordinator: Kath is no stranger to the Darlington area, as she has lived and worked locally for the past 15 years. Throughout her career, Kath has held diverse roles that have shaped her experience and prepared her for this position, from running her own bookshop to working in primary and secondary schools and office environments. Kath’s academic background in Religious Studies and Social Administration align beautifully with her new role at St. Cuthbert’s, and her expertise will be invaluable in working alongside the church and the Resourcing Project Team. Outside of work, Kath loves exploring the beautiful countryside and enjoying a well-deserved round of tea and cake.

Next, we have our Community Music Director, Megan Rawling: Megan has spent the past seven years serving as a Gospel Choir Director in Norwich, where she witnessed first-hand the transformative power of music. She firmly believes that music-making has the ability to build community and reach people beyond the walls of the church with the Gospel. As she steps into her new role at St. Cuthbert’s, Megan is excited to work with individuals across different age groups and explore various musical genres and forms of music-making to engage and connect with our community. When she's not working, Megan can be found kayaking, exploring our beautiful countryside, or wolfing tea and cake in pretty English gardens.

With Kath and Megan on board, our new Resourcing Church Team at St. Cuthbert’s is well underway. Their unique skills, experiences, and enthusiasm for community outreach will enrich our efforts to open the doors of St. Cuthbert’s. We are excited to witness the positive impact they will have as we continue our journey toward creating a vibrant space for hospitality, music, and faith exploration.
