Strawberry Fayre
Jul 24, 2023On Saturday 15th July, we held our first ever Strawberry Fayre. Thanks to the support of volunteers and members of the public, the event was a huge success, raising a total of £1120 for our Future Foundations Project.
There was a real buzz around St. Cuthbert's Church Hall, as wonderful members of the public supported our first fayre for many years. It was a real community effort, with all stalls and refreshments put together by volunteers from our congregation, spurred on by our church wardens, who organised the event. As part of the event, people enjoyed fresh strawberries, scones, tea and coffee, as well as perusing a variety of stalls, including local arts and crafts, baked goods, bric-a-brac and a tombola. We were blown away with the generosity of members of the public who supported the event.
The Strawberry Fayre marks the beginning of our programme of fundraising events to raise money for Future Foundations - our project to safeguard the long-term future of our historic, Grade 1-listed building, whilst transforming it into a vibrant hub of worship, heritage and culture for the whole community. Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for future events, which we would be delighted to welcome you to.
