Plan your visit
St. Cuthbert's Church warmly welcomes all visitors, whether you are interested in faith and worship, or simply wish to explore the history and heritage of our Grade I listed 12th Century building. On average we receive around 2000 visitors each year from across the world.
The church is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am-1pm from Easter until the end of September for all those wanting to take a look around. If you wish to discover a more in-depth history of the building, we also have a team of volunteers who offer guided tours of the church by arrangement. We also offer tours throughout the nationwide Heritage Open Weekend.
Parking may be available in the churchyard for those less able to walk during your visit to the church building, but the gates are sometimes closed outside of visiting hours. We would encourage you to make use of one of the many town centre car parks if possible.
Please contact us for more information or to arrange a tour of the building.
